[-mapdestroyer] would be a route that is done without a map-destroying shortcut, such as on zh_mini_journey (the example of official map would be risk_compound, route without a shortcut at beginning).
I guess we will use [-md]/[-mapdestroyer] instead of [-sc], as sc can mean only one skipped block for example.
i think yes too. the 00:00 demos (i'm thinking of xj now) are rather pointless, and i don't think records should be up there that can't be beat. + and -sc would fix that
Mapdestroyers are a part of the game! I wrote so much about this stuff at XJ when it was "on", but basically risk_compound has some really faggy shortcuts even without the the most known one in the beginning. Also it will be hard to judge which is a mapdestroyer and what not. In the end you might be making a different route for every one block skip .
Nobody said something about skips. I said about holy-all-map-skip-without-requiring-skill. (not speaking about zyllEE's wallblock here, that's uber hard not just uber skip)
If I remember right, the timer at cgturnier_runde1 is added on purpose, hidden in the wall, in half of the map.
Personally, I'd use [-md] because every map deserves a chance to be completely played, as it was a hard work by mapper and we should at least note that map can be played too without doing lame shortcuts to finish it.
As timer on cgturnier_runde1 was made intentionally I guess mapper just wanted to make some people 1337 (as they know the hidden timer and can do a better time) and make the rest of the map quite useless, built for nothing. Therefore I personally wouldn't give my vote for it.
We will try to do our best with picking the right maps for [-md], there's nothing that some contributions and patience can't work out.
What makes a shortcut a mapdestroyer? Is is 75% of the map, 50% or perhaps 90%? What I'm trying to say is that it's hard to decide whether the shortcut is a mapdestroyer or not.
You could, for an example, have a 30 minutes long map. Now there is a shortcut which saves about 10minutes, would it be a mapdestroyer?
If you are going to add this system, you need make clear rules about these shortcuts.
